Cerebellopontine Angle Neurenteric Cyst – A Case Report and Review of Literature
نویسنده
چکیده
A case of neurenteric cyst at CP Angle discussed. Only few intracranial neurenteric cyst have been reported. Around 60 cases were reported. Most of the intracranial lesions were in the posterior fossa. Around twenty cases of Neurenteric cysts in the CP angle were reported. The present case is a neurenteric cyst in the CP angle belongs to Odom’s group A lined by single layer of columnar cell with PAS positive intracellular deposits. The clinical presentation, pathology and management are discussed here with review of literature.

An Unusual Case of Large Posterior Fossa Neurenteric Cyst Involving Bilateral Cerebellopontine Angle Cisterns: Report of a Rare Case and Review of Literature
BACKGROUND Intracranial neurenteric cysts are rare cystic masses of endodermal origin lined with mucin producing low columnar or cuboidal epithelium. Approximately 141 cases have been reported so far. Most of the posterior fossa neurenteric cysts are typically small, located anteriorly to the brainstem in the midline or in the cerebellopontine angle cistern area. CASE REPORT We present a rare...
متن کاملMalignant Transformation of a Neurenteric Cyst in the Posterior Fossa Presenting with Intracranial Metastasis: A Case Report and Literature Review
Intracranial neurenteric cysts are relatively rare and almost exclusively benign. Here we present a case of an intracranial neurenteric cyst that was histologically benign in the first surgery and later demonstrated significant growth and intracranial metastasis with malignant transformation. A 47-year-old woman presented with a headache, which had gradually worsened over 1 year. Initial magnet...
متن کاملSecondary or Symptomatic Hemifacial Spasm caused by a Tumor of Cerebellopontine Angle Case Report and Review of the Literature
Background & Importance: Primary hemifacial spasm is usually caused by microvascular compression of the facial nerve at its root exit zone at brainstem without any space-occupying pathology. Secondary or so-called symptomatic hemifacial spasm has an additional underlying pathology e.g. tumors leading to the microvascular compression. We review and discuss the pathophysiology and the literature ...
متن کاملNeurenteric cyst in the cerebellopontine angle with xanthogranulomatous changes: serial MR findings with pathologic correlation.
We report serial MR findings in a middle-aged woman with a neurenteric cyst involving the cerebellopontine angle cistern with xanthogranulomatous changes. On the initial gadolinium-enhanced T1-weighted MR images, the solid portion of the lesion had homogeneously strong enhancement. Follow-up MR images obtained 6 months later showed that the mass had increased in size; however, the solid portion...
متن کاملNeuroimaging features of neurenteric cysts: analysis of nine cases and review of the literature.
PURPOSE To gain a better understanding of neurenteric (NE) cysts via correlation of imaging findings and surgical and pathologic data. METHODS The medical records, imaging studies, surgical information, and pathologic material were retrospectively reviewed in nine patients with NE cysts, including seven proved and two very probable cases. RESULTS NE cysts occurred in the cerebellopontine an...
